Arka Sinha is a lens-based artist from Kolkata, India. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts and is currently in the final year of a Master's in Photography at the National Institute of Design in Gandhinagar. His ongoing research focuses on the largely threatened wetland ecosystems around his hometown.
With a deep interest in analog methods and alternate processes, he considers the darkroom as a site for both experimentation and resistance, a space where materiality and process become integral to meaning-making. His practice engages with the often-invisible traces of ecological damage in the coastal regions of India, questioning how fragile environments and human interventions coexist in this chaotic, unstable state.
